Charity Just Got Easier.
Now i’m probably one of those horrible people who walks briskly past people with collection tins appealing for money for various charities. I’ve even got so bad that I actually change over the channel when one of those dog charity pops up. It’s bad. I know. BUT, I do like the idea of helping people in a worse off situation and I like it even more if I can help in a way which suits me.
Well my charitble prays have been anwsered as fashions answer to Ghandi, Vivenne Westwood has bulstered her social and political credentials by teaming up with the Ethical Fashion Programme to design an exclusive range of bags. The bags are hand made by single mothers, widows and HIV/AIDS victims in Nairobi providing over 7,000 jobs. What’s more the stylish creations are made from recycled materials including advertisement banners and safari tents, so not only are they providing jobs for women in Nairobi but they’re not having a negative impact on the environment.
The limited edition bags will be in stores worldwide from February 2011, this kind of charity definitely suits me and I don’t even mind the price tag just think of it as a generous donation.
